Reviews
tripadvisorIt was a fun, tasty and interesting tour. Not too much walking, really good local food and lots of fun little tidbits about Philly from an excellent guide. Kelly, you were awesome!!
MoreAdam (our tour guide) was fabulous! Very knowledgeable and able to answer all questions. Adhered to COVID precautions. The stops were well planned and allowed for walks between eating stops. Definitely recommend!
MoreWe are visiting in August and this at the head of our must do for our trip. Read all of the reviews and we cannot wait!
MoreMany visitors to Philadelphia want to know how to experience the “real” city beyond the standard tourist attractions. As a resident, one of my top suggestions is always Reading Terminal Market and probably the best way to experience it is by taking the Taste of Philly Food tour. Food is something that binds us all and tells the unique story of a place and that is certainly true in Philadelphia. The Reading Terminal Market gives a great snapshot of our food scene, not to mentiona great place to experience Philadelphia’s diversity. However, the Market can seem large and chaotic with overwhelming choices. Taste of Philly’s Carolyn Wyman is knowledgeable not just about the food choices in the market but about its rich history as well. The tour is a bargain at $16.95 and includes samples of both savory and sweet foods. It is not meant to take the place of a full meal, but rather give a tease of local specialties and perhaps give some ideas for place where you might have breakfast/lunch or take away some treats for later. Carolyn is very familiar with all the vendors and can make suggestions for your tastes, along with a list of a large variety of places to eat throughout the city too. Also having a knowledgeable guide point out RTM's unique architectural details as well as telling the personal stories of the vendors adds a great deal of human interest to the experience. This tour ran an hour and 15 minutes and I'd strongly recommend it.
MoreAs foodie history buffs, this was a great tour with good history and sampling’s of the local fare. Carolyn was knowledgeable and made it fun. Highly recommended
