tripadvisorThis Great Hall is part of the larger and longer tourist attraction called Charleston City Market. As you walk thru there are shops lined on each side with all sorts of clothing, art, crafts, some food and the like. Unless you are looking for something special or on a rain day there was not much to interest us except to walk thru once on our way from Meeting Street on our way to catch a horse and buggy ride.
MoreThe Great Hall is the airconditioned part of the first building closest to Meeting Street. This area was redone a few years ago and now houses shops and restaurants. Here's list of the shops in this section of the market. They are more permanent since they are in an enclosed area so merchants don't have to tear down every night like in the other areas of the market. A Corner on the Market At Home Caviar & Bananas Charleston Angler Charleston Christmas Collectibles Charleston Hat Shop Chuma Gullah Gallery Designs By Jane Food for the Southern Soul Gita’s Gourmet Jolin’s Market Shop of Historic Charleston Foundation Old Wold Glass Studio Paul Silva Gallery Passing Fancy Southern Charm Jewelry Sweet Charleston The Charleston Shoe Company The Fishin’ Duck, Inc. WonderWorks Many of these have local products. Prices are higher because the area draws tourists. It's worth the visit, but don't miss the rest of the market with open air vendors.
