Want to see some local artists this is your place. You can watch them work and buy their art. It's on the downtown square so park near and walk around. Visit with the artists.

The Underground has a wide variety of eclectic and traditional art and sculpture. I have been there primarily for special showings and found the different artists' works intriguing . Much of the art one sees is actually in the various artist' working studios . I ti is fun to see their works in progress and you get areal appreciation for the thought processes.

First Thursdays may be the best time to visit Fayetteville Underground (which was actually below street level in its former location but is now at ground-level physically), but you can also stop in when you visit the Saturday Farmers Market on the Fayetteville Square. A wide range of local and not-so-local artists working in a variety of media exhibit here, with the work on display changing at just-right intervals. Most of the works are reasonably priced and you can often talk with the artists, see their studios or listen to live music while you browse. Be sure to look at the hand-made tile-embellished entryway, and don't miss any of the gallery's many rooms.
