We enjoyed a great cycling and short hike tour with Wayfinder Tours. After meeting outside of Anacortes we cycled on a bike path into Anacortes and to the small Guemes Island ferry. We then spent the better part of the day cycling this hidden gem in the San Juan Islands. After lunch the tour included an optional, and rather steep, hike. The view at the top was worth the exertion to get there. We returned through Anacortes and were back at the cars in the mid to late afternoon.

We loved our bike tour of Whidbey Island led by John Clark, a naval veteran who has lived in the Puget Sound area for more than 17 years. Wayfinder Tours is the way to go for road cyclists who want to get the most out of exploring the miles of excellent roads, sweeping vistas and historic sites of this scenic island. John's excellent guiding and interpersonal skills are backed by in-depth knowledge of the locale and the lore of Whidbey. Our group took a one-day tour, covering about 55 miles, much of it along scenic waterfront, but also through parklands, farms and pine forests, with stops at sites such as Fort Casey Historical Park, Coupeville and Ebey’s Preserve. (PS For a carbo boost, don’t miss a slice of pie at Greenbank Farm!)

We thoroughly enjoyed our ride around the island. Great views of the beach, water and even mountains. Lovely.
