tripadvisorThe lake and surrounding waterfall was pretty, but all the trails around it were closed during my visit. It was unfortunate, because my dog would have loved the trail.
MoreWe visited in October and hiked along the south shore from Sackett Bridge to Triphammer Falls while viewing the beautiful fall foliage along the north shore across the lake. It was early afternoon, but the water was calm enough that we could see beautiful reflections of the fall colors as well.
MoreThe lake is very nice and the trail around it is an easy walk. It's actually part of Cornell University's Botanic Gardens and the Triphammer Falls are pretty although there are certainly more impressive falls all around Ithaca.
MoreWe had heard how beautiful the lake & dam were but found it to be minimal water actually going over sections of the dam. Compared the the lake it lacked the beautiful color. Located at Cornell we found Ray’s paid parking & explored the area. Would love to see it when the lake is full and rushing over the dam.
MoreThis manmade lake is on the north side of the Cornell campus, and it culminates in the Triphammer Falls. Yes, there are prettier falls in Ithaca, but the walking trails around this lake are particularly quiet, peaceful, and secluded. Recommended as part of a visit to north campus, as it is virtually adjacent to Cornell Botanical Gardens.
