Since Bucky has left us, so has the feeling of his bar. Went in last night around 8;00 for some drinks and found out that the bar has been sold and they basically cleaned house. While it is cleaner and less cluttered, it also lost part of its appeal. It doesn't feelloike a neighborhood bar any more. All the old San Mateo Peninsula pictures are gone and in their place are generic mean nothing photos of times past. For some reason the drinks missed their mark and we left feeling empty.

I'm actually writing this while I'm sitting at the bar having a cold beer. Awesome retro bar. Lots of locals. Big selection of beer and cocktails. Cash only. Seems clean. Front door wide open and cool breezes flowing through. A small dog just walked through with its owner. Going to try El Sinaloense for Mexican food, just across the street. Highly rated. Will review it later.
