I’m not much of a review person (although I rely on them to visit places), but from a business perspective this needs to come to light. Before I get started I’d like to say The Goose Pub is ok, busy, really smokey, but it’s what it is. I used to go with my best friend years ago before she went to heaven. She’s the only reason I brought some business partners with me there for a drink this month. We live in Orlando and we’re down in a business trip. Really everything was ok, it’s what to expect from a busy dive bar. My issue stems from when reviewing my finances a week later I notice I’m double charge and at two different amounts. 3 of us, 2 simple mixed drinks and a beer plus 3 yager- bomb shots. My total was $48 plus tip. Cashed out and left as we had a long Friday ahead of us. Why is there an additional $56 charged right after my initial payment?? Tried calling the establishment at 7pm today and no answer for 3 calls before writing this. Now it sucks the entire establishment takes the hit because of one review, but if there’s shady business going on then it needs to get figured out immediately before it turns business upside down. Like I said, I only went there because we wanted a drink before we checked into our hotel on the water and also gave me time to remember my late best friend. The additional charge isn’t going to break my bank at all, the shady person double charging clients will break a business though. Hope it gets sorted out and permanently. ATTN: PAY WITH CASH.

I have been here many times. Tonight was much different. I walked through the back door. As I tried to go through the bar. Past the pool tables. I was greeted by a man on his phone. With his arm stretched out real wide so I couldnt pass. I had to bump him to pass him bc as he stared at me on his call, he didn't move. Five minutes later this same man decided it was best to come find me and make a scene as to why I didn't say excuse me. A grown man. Felt the need to come all the way over to make me feel small. Congrats. Not only did you make yourself look. Well. You lost 3 different peoples tabs. The worst part is you are wearing a security badge. The same person that is suppose to protect. Is the same person bullying someone for what? Good job bub. Bet many are proud of you.

Just walked in for some beers before walking around. It had just opened so it was quiet but bartender was nice and we just had some beers. Smoky and had some gambling games to play.

So this may be a bit lengthy. My wife and I adore downtown Jensen Beach. We Love Jammin’ Jensen on Thursday nights. Every reassurance you decide to dine is has fabulous fare and extraordinary service. We are both independent business owners and love supporting the local businesses in our community. Having just moved to this municipality we both fell instantly in love with Island Roots Kava Bar, Glass Chamber, Lures, Taco Tiki and the quaint little surf shop for which name escapes me. We have dropped thousand of dollars down in that little community. It is wonderful. Thursday nights there are a variety of street venders and local musicians that just make a person feel at home with the sea. As a former Navy man this means a great deal to me as I age into my last years. We very much enjoy the musicians at the Goose Pub. The gentleman who preforms their on Thursday nights is absolutely fabulous with his raspy voice and haunting guitar chords. We love it. Well, we did. Honestly, we still will. I don’t write negative reviews. I just don’t. Anyone can have an off night. Many things can go wrong in the service industry. We both know this, but tonight was just shameful. We don’t make a killing. We are average hard working people with four kids trying to get by I. A hard pressed world like everybody else. We do enjoy the blessings of being able to go out for dinner and some drinks from time to time and we try very hard to keep our dollars and enjoyment within our community. Tonight I was grossly disappointed. My sweet darling wife, who tirelessly cares for our children and works at her own business during the week suffers from a debilitating illness name Narcolepsy. Simply put, at a moments notice she can go from fully alert to can’t keep her eyes open, pull the car over, I’m gonna pass out sleep. No, this is not easy to understand. It took me years to accept, witness and embrace this in her. We consider it a blessing if this is the biggest ailment we cope with in our lives, but it is real. I o Luv say that because she has found tremendous relief from her condition at Island Roots Kava Bar. She can get herself a nice chilled white kratom tea which for you and me is five cups of strong coffee, but for her, it’s keeping her awake past 7:00pm. And right next store is our favorite pub that has the brilliant musician I spoke of earlier. The Goose Pub. Mark os fabulous there. Ashamed to say I have forgotten the names of the other bartenders. It’s a lot of words to tell you we went downtown on Jammin’ Jensen this Thursday, 10/07/2021. We wanted to hear the band on our rare date night. And the Goode Pub did not disappoint with its atmosphere. Unfortunately, my sweetheart needed a pick me up (white tea, for those outta the loop) front the partner bar, Island Roots Kava Bar. I want to make this plain. We don’t have much extra money. What we have we spend at Island Roots, which we will continue to do, and Goose Pub. As 930 pm or so came on us I saw her eyes fade and saw her struggle to stay with the evening. She tries so hard and I love her for that which is why I take this time and spend these words. As the band played a Matchbox Twenty song (her favorite) I went next door to Island Root (seriously, check this place out they have multiple locations and their staff is phenomenal and educational with nootropic herbal remedies. I’m a nurse, and thumbs up these approaches to some of our ailments of life.) I grabbed her a White Tea and brought it over to the Next door community Goose Pub so she could enjoy the band. We had a tab running at the bar. We weren’t freeloading. We both have worked in the service industry and tip EVERYONE regardless of circumstance. As I sat down and placed my odes tea before her a regular bartender, name undisclosed, berated us up and down for bringing in this iced tea. Look, I get it. There are rules. But hey, Goose Pub, we have dropped thousands of dollars in your establishment. But that game is over. Shame. Hats off to snark at the Goose. Always treat us Golden. Had drinks ready for us before we sat down. But this young lady tonight 10/07/21 (yeah I write the date because I want you down there to know she has cost you not only our thousand every few months but all our friends) No, I don't want her fired. I don’t want her to suffer financial loss. I do want you to educate her that there are people with illness that require a more gentle and sensitive approach. She knew us. We were regulars. She had some issue beyond serving drinks to her other clientele. She came across the bar to accost my wife about her “tea” so I hat get your name is, live long and prosper . Mark, brilliant barkeep. Island Roots. We’ll be there every day as always. We just need to find a new pub with a nice band. My wife will never again feel ashamed of a mental condition because one blonde bartender was jealous of my blonde wife. And, YES, that is what it was all about. Grow up kids. Life comes back on ya. It really does.
