This building doesn't have the tourist cache of the Space Needle, but it is higher by almost 100 meters and cheaper to enter by several dollars. The 941-foot building, Columbia Center (Bank of America Tower), is the second tallest west of the Mississippi. Take in spectacular views of the Cascade and Olympic Mountain ranges, Puget Sound and area lakes, plus educational views of the freeway system and the downtown area. Take one elevator to the 40th floor, another to the 73rd floor.

tripadvisorI am not good with heights so it was with some trepidation that I agreed to go to the 73rd floor to the 360 observatory. $25 each. The lift was a solid affair, none of this glass floor and windows business. I was OK for most of the walking round, got a bit weird at the corners where I had glass walls on two sides. The view is very good as you would expect from that height and there are some helpful folk around to help, orientate you.
MoreWe chose this over the Space Needle not having known of its existence, we chose a sunset time slot and were surprised to almost have the place to ourselves, at 300 ft higher than the Space Needle and a better downtown location, the Columbia Centre offers superb panoramic views (weather permitting) the bar is not outrageously priced and the staff friendly.Highly recommended!
MoreThe Columbia Centre in downtown Seattle is one of the tallest buildings. It’s located just of 5th. Worth a visit and a view from the top.
MoreThis is a must see tourist attraction if you are visiting Seattle. It is the tallest structure in the Pacific Northwest, you can see an360 view I’ll be entire Seattle. area and the surrounding mountains . It’s similar to Chicago’s Willis Tower (formally the Sears Tower). You can purchase drinks and food, and relax at a table to take in the view.. I highly recommend this attraction.
MoreWe chose to go to the Observatory instead of the Space Needle because it was higher up - 73 floors - and the children would love being that high over the city. We were blessed with a beautiful day and remarkable views. Everyone at the Columbia Center was very friendly and helpful.
