tripadvisorWe enjoyed a walk along Alameda Creek. This is a nice trail for walking or for biking. While we just walked part of it, the entire length is 12 miles. The views are scenic.
MoreGreat views of wildlife and wildflowers. The walk can start in Niles and go all the way to the SFBay with many interesting sights along the way
MoreThat Alameda Creek Trail is a great place for a bike ride or walk. The trail on one side of the creek is paved and the other side of the creek is dirt/gravel. The paved side goes all the way from Niles to Coyote Hills Park. The two things to watch for, while biking, is the buckled pavement due to roots and the unaware dog owners who are one side of the path while their dog is on the other. :-) It's prettiest in the spring...especially it was a wet winter.
MoreAlameda creek trail is a gem! I can't imagine anyone having anything less than wonderful things to say about it. I suggest you go for a LONG run or bike ride -- West of Union City Blvd whenever the weather is less than wonderful or at twilight. You will feel safe on a lovely paved suburban trail where urban sounds fade and your own thoughts emerge. Today there were many geese and ducks doing their thing in the high water flow during a break between storms. Enjoy!
MoreThe Alameda Creek trail is like a hidden secret...I have lived in Fremont for >15 yr, only 0.5mile from this trail, and only recently discovered it. You can get from the Mission Hills in Fremont all the way to Coyote Hills (on the Bay) using this trail. My husband and I like to bike over to Quarry Lakes and Niles using this trail. It is not connected to the roads and only for walkers, joggers, and bikers. It's a safe way to bike around! I wish there were more trails like this so we could bike more and drive less!
