A friend and I stopped by Islands Art and Books this week. What a delightful shop and wonderful staff. I purchased a lovely print by Ken Buckner that was a *must have*. A lovely place to browse and shop for books, art prints, jewelry and much more if you are in the Ocean Isle Beach area.

Nice place to stop! Had books by local authors including Cook books. Lots of paintings and photos for sale with or without frames. Framing can be done on the same day. Lovely sea glass jewelry made by the owner’s daughter. Small place, but lots of charm and treasures.

We visited this delightful gallery last week. It was amazing. The magic began when we walked through the doorway and Gary Pope, the owner, warmly greeted us. He made us feel like family even though it was our first visit. He was very gracious in providing us his background and the history of the gallery. The painting and prints were incredible as was the jewelry collection. He also had several books about the area from local authors. We purchased one of the Ivey Hayes shrimp boat prints. It is now hanging in my office. We are looking forward to our next trip to his gallery.

This shop has a good variety of local and coastal subject matter books as well as a good selection of artwork, photo prints and crafts. The proprietor is friendly and helpful. Check on the opening hours before you go - they can be irregular.
