tripadvisorWe’re a family of four on a budget. We were able to do one big treat for the kids so we chose the Museum of Ice cream.BEWARE ITS CLOSED ON TUESDAYS!! We leaned that the hard way Kids had a ball, the sprinkles pit at the end was so much fun and parents get to sit and chill for as long as you want or join in in the fun! We were there from 12.30 to 3pm. Clean and well run.
MoreMy 16 yo daughter loves ice cream and really wanted to try this experience after she saw influencers recommend it. As a family with multiple people with Celiac and Non-Celiac Gluten Senaitivity, we were assured that there would be a variety of gluten-free ice cream options.Overall, we all left pretty disappointed. We were in and out in about 30 minutes. Definitely over priced and over hyped. While advertised as an experience for all ages, there isn't much to do and it is definitely geared towards little kids. If you have little kids, this would definitely be a great experience! But with older kids...I would definitely skip it. Its basically just a bunch of photo-op rooms you walk through with a few little kid activities. Also, there is not nearly as much ice cream as they make it sound - there are only 3 rooms ice cream and one with a tiny frozen sorbet bar. As for the ice cream, for my son and I who have Celiac, there was very little we could have. While they do have a assortment of gluten free ice cream flavors, the risk of cross contamination is very high since they double dip when serving everyone, and they don't have spare (clean) containers to scoop from. That said, we were able to have their soft serve chocolate/vanilla blend at the very first station which was good and a tiny frozen sorbet bar. My husband who could have all of it said the ice cream was good.Final note - the slide at the end. I do not recommend going down it as an adult. It is actually a very fast slide, and as an adult you pick up even more speed. Going around a turn it was so fast I lost my balance and was left with friction burns all down one side of my body from shoulder to knee.
MoreEhh… Not THE best. We expected a fun, wacky, weird museum. We maybe got weird, but we didn’t get the “fun” completely. The ice cream was regular, i think maybe they served you enough to make a kid get a super sugar rush. It was fun, but I think it’s better to not go solo. The fun was probably more because of the grandma.
MoreAn absolute NoGo!!!! What a waste of time and money. We spent USD 60,- per person for a pink, indoor playground with 30 minute wait for each of the unlimited ice cream stands. The website and marketing materials present the experience as suitable for all ages and as a unique museum attraction. In reality, what we encountered was an overcrowded indoor playground, not a museum in any meaningful sense; no tour, no interaction, no education, nothing. Just screaming kids in pink rooms.Spend your money in NY on anything, but this complete rip-off.
MoreAnother instagrammable place to visit in the Soho area of NYC. This one focuses on ice cream. All the ice cream you can eat as you go from room to room. (Different kinds of ice cream too -- soft ice cream, dippin dots, even ice cream on a bagel). Play areas for kids include a sprinkle pool with a slide and a two story slide (supposedly the longest in NYC?) No place to check your coats and bags. Gave it a 4 vs a 5 since it is pricey.
