Every once in a while life hands you what I call a Gift From the Universe. Meeting Shaums March in the parking lot at Galbraith was such an encounter. He told us he offered lessons and even shuttle service (driver to top, bike down, rinse and repeat). Just what we wanted. We signed up for the following day. He was amazing. First, he is an ex-world champion pro rider, sponsored by redbull etc and now just does teaching and coaching. Second, he can articulate what he knows into actionable steps that you can immediately put into action. Third, he is a prince of a guy. Super positve, loves his sport, loves the outdoors. We spent a good 20min going over some basics of rider position, braking, etc then we were off. He would stop, go over some stuff, then continue. He knows the trails like the back of his hand so he would stop and discuss some tricky feature up ahead, how to manage, etc. I progressed more in those several hours than I did in last 2 YEARS of riding. An absolute must if you are in the area!

My two kids (now 14 and 12) have been attending clinics and camps with March Northwest for the past 3 years or so. The coaching is spot on and drills are interspersed with trail rides where the kids get to try out their new skills. There is no doubt that my boys are better riders and better people because of their experiences with Shaums and his crew! I've even managed to tune up some of my own riding skills with adult clinics on jumping, drops, etc.!

Our soon to be 12 year old son was taking after school classes with March NW March-June of this year. He, and we, LOVE this program! We trust the instructors to guide and teach him the appropriate skills and fundamentals while introducing fun, challenging trails to keep him interested and loving the sport of mountain biking. Looking forward to the summer camps where there will be trail stewardship taught as well.
