I am really thankful to have found firecycle. First of all, it's a first class studio run by awesome women. The facilities are always clean - shower, bathroom, lockers that lock, towels and water bottle filler available. Spin shoes are available to rent for $2 or you can bring your own (or ride in sneakers). While this place has all the fix-ins of high end spin studios, it has none of the snobbery. Your spinning with people of all ages - men and women - with a variety of experience levels. All of the instructors are great at coaching you through rides. Be prepared to sweat in a great way. They are experts at positive reinforcement, and really make you feel like you can, even when you feel like you can't. They are patient with questions, helpful, thoughtful and kind. I love that here you don't feel pressure to follow along when it's not your day. Classes so often have choreography, but if that's not your thing, that's ok. You're not shunned or judged for managing your body the way you need to in any given class. A lot of spin studios I've been to in the area (handle bar, soul cycle, flywheel, turnstyle, etc.) don't have the same all are welcome tone that this place has. Though instructors at those studios are often great, you really feel like you're a valued member of a community here. Instructors learn peoples names and the same people keep coming back, bringing new people with them. Prices are comparable to similar studios and I certainly think these rides are worth the price of admission.
