Café Colucci is an Ethiopian restaurant in Oakland celebrating the rich culinary traditions of Ethiopia through vibrant spices, fresh ingredients, and warm hospitality. The essence of Ethiopian cooking lies in its spices — from fiery and bold to delicate and aromatic — carefully blended to create the deep flavors that make Ethiopian food so unique. At Café Colucci, many of the spices used in our kitchen come directly from Ethiopia through our sister company, Brundo Spice Company. We work closely with farmers and producers in Ethiopia to source organic, sun-dried spices and herbs that bring authentic flavor to every dish. Our menu features traditional Ethiopian favorites including slow-simmered stews, fresh vegetable dishes, and a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian specialties inspired by Ethiopia’s rich plant-based culinary traditions. All meals are served with our injera — a soft, nsourdough flatbread made from finely milled Ethiopian teff flour. In addition to our traditional cuisine, Café Colucci also features a cocktail program inspired by Ethiopian spices, as well as carefully selected wines and beverages that complement the flavors of the food. Whether you are trying Ethiopian cuisine for the first time or returning for your favorites, Café Colucci offers an authentic and welcoming dining experience rooted in Ethiopian culture.
