Napa Valley Museum boasts an intriguing collection, of objects and artifacts rooted in Napa's pioneering and wine making history. The museum is housed in fashionably reconstructed quarters of what was once the California State Veterans Home. Three galleries are housed within the museum, each dedicated to a different aspect of local history. The exhibit spaces are intelligently arranged and well lit, making good use of Napa's abundant natural light. Its educational programs are great, particularly strong hands-on art training for kids.

tripadvisorDropped by this small museum that’s next to the veterans rehabilitation home. Main feature was an exhibition on the Tiki culture that permeated San Francisco and elsewhere after WWII as the troops returned from the Pacific. Some unusual exhibits, we particularly liked the singing parrot but suspected the novelty might wear off after a while. A fresh aspect on a particular time.
MoreThe regular exhibit is okay with an emphasis on history, which is nicely displayed. We enjoyed the Lucy Liu exhibit, however.
MoreThis museum is a real gem. it has great visiting exhibits and a comprehensive Napa Valley History section. WE were lucky to be there for the Picasso Prints exhibit. This included masterworks by Picasso and many other artist of his generation, We were blown away that a small area museum had such an amazing exhibit. We just missed the Julia Child Photo exhibit, but were able to see it later at Copia in Napa. We highly recommend this museum.
MoreWe went by when they had the aDisney train exhibit. My husband had a home in Napa for decades and did not know there was a museum here. It is a good size and they have interesting exhibits. Fun place to drop by!
MoreThe Napa Valley Museum is located in Yountville. The Picasso printmaking exhibit was astoundingly good and included Miro, Motherwell, etc. It not only presented the works, but also gave information about how the different printmaking processes were accomplished. The work was excellent, as was the presentation. This exhibit would have stood up well against any similar exhibition in a major museum. Whenever I am in the Napa area, I will check to see what is on display at this little gem of a museum.
