Bob (Founder) peddled granola around Berkeley and Davis in the early 70s. He then began a small business called Gilman Gourmet in what is now Berkeley Natural Grocery. In 1981 The Natural Grocery Company was born. Grounded in a desire to nourish our community with high quality, wholesome foods, we do the research and select the best, local, Non-GMO, organic products so that you may shop with ease and trust. We have three locations, two grocery stores (Berkeley and El Cerrito) and one Prepared Food Annex (El Cerrito).
