We took the Buffalo Light Rail surface line from CanalSide to our hotel at Fountain Plaza--its free on this stretch. We then took it, when it is a subway line, from Amherst (near the Zoo) to Fountain Plaza--for only $2 per person. It's quick and easy to use.
