My family took a 10-day trip to Washington D.C. over the summer. We spent 2 days in Alexandria and 8 in D.C. During our 2 days in Alexandria, we hired Adam to pick us up in downtown Alexandria (from our hotel) and drive us to Mount Vernon. At that time, we were 4 adults and 3 children (2 in car seats). When booking Adam in advance, we asked about the possibility of car seats and he was so generous to accommodate our needs. He picked us up on time, helped us load up, and even helped get the kids buckled in to the very clean car seats. The van was spot less and so comfortable compared to other options! He gave us history and a bit of a driving tour on our way to Mt. Vernon and was open to some flexibility in picking us up. When he dropped us off, he provided us with cold bottled water to take with us! Considering the fact that the temperature was over 100, this was very much appreciated. When he picked us up, he got everyone loaded in and then even provided us with more cold bottled water and snacks for our return drive! That little extra was so appreciated! We had such a good experience in Alexandria, that when we discovered that our trip from DC to Mount Vernon later in our vacation would cost us a ton of time (public transit) or money (in multiple vehicles) we knew we needed another option so we called him again! This time is was to accommodate 7 adults and 3 children. It was like meeting up with an old friend; he remembered what we were planning to do and asked us about it. He shared stories and experience when we asked. And just like the first trip, he provided us cold bottled water and snacks! Adam was a pro at navigating traffic. Unlike many Uber and bus drivers we had experienced, I never felt unsafe in his van. He was open to answering any and all questions we had, offered advice, and treated us with respect. We appreciated the privacy of an option that wasn't public transit for this particular aspect of our vacation and also appreciated an option that could take so many of us together. Thanks Adam!

I used The Getaway Driver to drive us around for a full day of activities in MD and DC. The price was very reasonable for a full day (11 people and 3 stops) and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. Our driver, Adam, was incredible! Not only was he really responsive when we were planning the day, but he was also super accommodating to changes in our itinerary and gave us each great snacks (including gluten-free)! I cannot say enough good things and I will absolutely use them again!
