Jort is an excellent guide, highly recommended. We spent a morning with him, with the sole purpose of searching for wolves for my daughter (she is fascinated with them). We were not disappointed! Jort led us to a pack of wolves that were feeding on a bison carcass. Amazing to see! Following that, we went to another location to see wolf puppies frolicking around. He knew just the places to go. He provided spotting scopes to view the animals which we wouldn’t have been able to see with the naked eye. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the wolves, and the park in general. After parting ways, he recommended some excellent hikes and recommended other locations to spot grizzlies and moose. He was a delight to be around!

I spent 5 full days with Jort in the north of the park. We saw a lot of wildlife like wolves, moose, Bull elk, otters, coyotes, fox, pygmy owls, bisons... Jort is very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to watch wildlife with him. As he is also a very good photographer and gave me advices to take wonderful photos. He picked me up at my hotel each morning with delicious fresh scones! Then we drove the road from Gardiner to Cooke city searching for good sightings. If you want to discover the secrets of Yellowstone and see a lot of wildlife, with a very kind guide who has a good sens of humour, then Jort is THE guide you need. And for French people, Jort speaks a little french! My next trip is already planned and for sure he'll be my guide

Over the whole process of booking and planning our trip Jort was incredibly helpful and flexible with our group. When we arrived he was able to come pick us up from where we were staying, which was a real plus. The day with Jort is really fantastic. His ability to spot wildlife and his knowledge of the park was incredible. If we had driven past the same areas on our own we would have just seen Bison and been disappointed. But there is wildlife all around you that it takes an expert to point out and it also takes equipment to see in many situations. Jort brings equipment so that you can see these animals way up in the mountain where they are barely a speck to an untrained naked eye. He also knows where to go and when to go to certain areas and is able to cater to the needs of your group. Our group consisted of us ( mid 20's) and 3 of our parents who were in their 50's-60's with limited mobility. He took us places they could handle, but also gave us tips on where to go off on our own when we had some time. We actually ended up running into him on several occasions in those locations! His knowledge of the ecosystem and wildlife makes riding between locations interesting and educational. Side note: The food he brings is so delicious, and he also was able to bring items for our largely vegetarian group, which we were very thankful for.

Jort picked us up at our hotel just before dawn with coffee and snacks ready to go. We spent the day in the Lamar Valley learning all about the wolves, fox, coyote, bison and elk that inhabit the park. He was a wonderful guide...full of information, stories and a pleasure to be with. He is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful sense of humor. I hope to see him again for more adventure at YNP. It was my birthday and spending time in YNP with my friend and Jort was the best!! We had a five star experience! Susie M

My sister and I spent a few days with Jort in Yellowstone National Park, and I highly recommend him if you are looking for a guide while visiting the park. We photograph wildlife as a hobby and like to visit the park to photograph the variety of animals found there. This past trip to Yellowstone was our seventh visit and by far the most successful in terms of photography all due to Jort! He is an excellent guide, has a real talent for finding wildlife, and is knowledgeable about all aspects of the park. He is also a photographer and was very helpful in answering questions and making recommendations about camera settings. He has a great sense of humor, is a lot of fun, and made outings extremely enjoyable! No matter what your reason for going to Yellowstone whether it is to photograph wildlife or just to enjoy all the park has to offer, Jort is the perfect choice as a guide and will definitely make your trip memorable!
