tripadvisorI can't imagine how much they spent on this trail. Its only 4miles long, but a good deal of it is wooden boardwalks built over the slopes of the river. The path runs through the woods, so is shaded most of the way. It has lots of ups and downs and sharp curves, so ride carefully. Combine it with the Riverwalk for a 22mi round trip. Restrooms and water at Riverpoint park.
MoreThis Greenway connects with the Tennessee River Park near Amnicola. It is a quiet uncrowded segment, an 8 mile out and back round trip. Very nice boardwalks, moderate climbing but no restrooms, water or rest areas/ shelters. Very little traffic on the trail, no road crossings of any concern, although the trail passes near and under active railways. Nice views and crossings of the namesake creek. I was impressed by the efforts & commitment to construct this trail by the beautiful elaborate boardwalks that make up a good bit of the trail.
MoreThere are 3 trailheads-3925 N. Hawthorne St., Sterchi Farms Park 3000 Harrison Pike and 3639 Faith Rd. This trail can be accessed easily from the Tennessee Riverwalk Trail when it crosses Riverport Rd by crossing Amnicola HWY ride south on Wisdom St. and then turn left on N. Hawthorne St to the trailhead. The trail has easy grade, wide paved concrete, a lot of boardwalk on the creekbank ,a long trail bridge over the creek, and passes underneath the NS,CSX,and TVRM(Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum ) tracks( These tracks are heavily used. Stay away from the tracks and trestles) Sorry, no restrooms at the trailheads The mid-trail Sterchi Farms Park has parking, and an old barn. There is also a Camp Jordan Park segment of the Trail further south.
