My sister and I went out to scatter our mother's ashes. Captain Forrest came up with a plan of where to go. He and his crew mate, Carl, were sensitive to our need for space and time. They made the outing comfortable and pleasant. It would be great to go out again under more joyful circumstances.

We loved the experience. The captain gave quick lesson on the basics of sailing and let us control the boat for a while. The route was well planned and worth every penny.

I have been on many chartered sailing trips. This one today was the best by far. I have my own sailboat and I love sailing, but my boat is not large enough for the ocean. I loved going out with this crew and their boat. The boat itself is historic. For a real sailing experience with the details catered to whatever you are looking for in a sail, hire this company for your trip.

Forrest is a very knowledgeable Mariner and the boat is a piece of history. A very enjoyable morning sail that we shared with Dolphins.

I wanted to get the family on the water during our brief stay in Santa Cruz so I looked into a whale watching cruise but it sounds like mid November is an in-between time for migration patterns in the area. Then I came across CA Classic sail and it sounded perfect. Our aim would be on the sailing experience itself, not seeing something specific. It was a great choice. This was the first sailing experience for my 5 and 10 year old. They really didn’t know what to expect. What we got was a gorgeous day, a beautiful boat and expert, personable captain and crew. Forest and Nate were great. They gave the kids simple safety instructions and were happy to give tidbits of info as much as the kids seemed interested in. Once the kids realized that we weren’t going anywhere in particular or looking for anything in particular they settled in and enjoyed just being on the boat. We went out for 2 hours. I could have stayed out there all day but 2 hours was just enough for the kids. They were in no hurry to get off the boat but weren’t begging to stay on. Forrest and Nate made it feel like we were old friends spending some time together on their beloved sailboat, lucky to be out there on a beautiful day.
