tripadvisorThis art museum is free and open to the public. There are indoor exhibits and an outdoors bronze statuary garden. I love that the exhibits change so each time I travel here I always have new things to see. Brought my grandkids (14 and 17) and both enjoyed it.
MoreNicely curated exhibits. Takes about 20 minutes to see everything. Fresh exhibits every couple months or so. Interesting art talks every so often. Had a reception here and was very well received by our guests.
MoreI went to the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara. Its a pleasant free art gallery with nice art. This time the featured artists included Renee Billingslea, Enrique Chagoya, and Jeff Alan West. There are also some outdoor art scultpures to see. I have gone before; this time I visited in March 2020.
MoreThe Triton museum has been able to capture some very good recent exhibits, and I visited during one of them. I enjoyed it. Plenty of parking for the smaller shows.
MoreAs a museum Triton falls in the regional museum camp. But, that's not to put it down! Since it is FREE and open year round, it is a great resource for art students and art lovers. I have visited this museum many times as a local. If you're visiting from out of town, I highly recommend attending one of their after hours events or taking a class. That is the real beauty of this museum, you can take atelier style classes in a variety of mediums from modern mixed media to classic drawing and oil paintings. And yes, there is a small museum store with all the usual wonderful, colorful, kitschy, handmade and reproduction items normally found in museum stores. The staff at this museum are wonderful, very involved and approachable. I've attended a number of their after hours events including their interactive retro gaming night (very fun) and their non-silent homemade art auction. Always a festive, lively feel, partly because the museum grounds themselves are small and community-sized. Good times and recommended if you're in the area and enjoy art and variety.
