Ashworth Road Baptist Church describes itself as a mission church and organizes projects that transcend the usual outreach programs of most other churches. Under the patronage of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, it engages in various development programs in Iowa that deal with poverty, malnutrition, environmental preservation and rehabilitation of the homeless. It also encourages community involvement through volunteering and donations. The Sunday service welcomes one and all, from the most ardent believer to the atheist. On Wednesdays, it organizes activities for the entire family, with educational games for children and prayer meetings for adults. Members can also download podcasts of the weekly sermons from the iTunes store.
