Millennium Park is one of the newest additions to Chicago's many wide-open urban spaces and is host to a range of indoor/outdoor activities for the entire family. You can listen to top musical events at the outdoor pavilion, or glide across the bustling ice skating rink come winter. For a bit of the park's history, be sure to take a peek at the Peristyle. While in the park one cannot afford to miss the Cloud Gate Sculpture, built with 110 tons (99,790 kilograms) of steel. It is called The Bean by the residents. Meandering through the park, you'll encounter the serene beauty of Lurie Garden, a breathtaking botanical haven. The Pritzker Pavilion and Crown Fountain are also to look out for. Whether you're a local seeking solace or a traveler eager to immerse yourself in the essence of Chicago, Millennium Park warrants a visit.

tripadvisorWe stopped by Millennium Park around 6:00 PM on a freezing cold December night, and honestly the giant Christmas tree took my breath away. It was completely surrounded by glowing holiday lights, and standing right underneath it while looking up at the illuminated skyscrapers in the background felt magical. The whole plaza had this very unique holiday energy with families taking photos and holiday music drifting over from somewhere near Michigan Avenue. We spent almost forty minutes just walking around the base of the tree trying to capture all the angles against the night sky before our fingers got numb. We passed by the ice rink too, and watching everyone skatting around in the chill was so fun. It made our entire winter trip to Chicago feel special, and I already want to come back next holiday season with my whole family.
MoreEvery season is fun at Millenium Park but we really enjoyed Christmas! We didn’t take advantage of the ice-skating, but it looked very fun! Lots of great picture opportunities with all the fun decorations, cool, skyline, and massive Christmas tree!
MoreIts a Must visit landmark when in Chicago. Its crowded but not too overwhelming. There are food stalls next to it. There is a lovely park and garden surrounding it. Restroom is underneath it. Great quick stop if you're visiting Chicago.
MorePlace is packed, always, but hey, it’s a must see , its a Chicago Landmark
MoreGreat activity to do in Chicago especially if you are limited on time. It’s right downtown so you can see many more sites during your visit to the park. Completely walkable and close to public transit. Stop and get a Chicago dog in the park to check that off your bucket list (super delicious). It’s a very beautiful, well maintained park in the heart of the city. Can be crowded so be mindful (after all it is a tourist attraction).
