tripadvisorArchitect Jose Esteves guided our group of architects from Brazil with great dedication, showing us old and contemporary buildings in downtown Miami. All of his explanations were accompanied by the context of the projects, behind-the-scenes details, and lots of useful information. Even for those who are not in the field of architecture, the historical information is of great interest and will arouse curiosity in those who can enjoy the company of the very friendly Jose.
MoreWe toured Downtown on a Saturday walking tour November 23, 2019. The tour of historic buildings was educational. Our highlight was the introductory slide show of Miami history. We will recommend this tour to friends. Jerry and Renee Laguna Beach, California
MoreWe've lived in Miami for a year, and this was by far the best walking tour we've taken. The guide is an expert on Miami's architectural styles as well as its history. Constantly looking up, he pointed out features we had never noticed. The other reviews are accurate -- AIA's walking tours should not be missed.
MoreThe Downtown Miami Walking Tour given by the MIAMI CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN, INC, was absolutely fabulous. I learned so much about Miami, its history, and its architecture. I very much recommend this tour to other architects, as well as Interior Designers, Historians, and the general public! I give it a 10 out of 10
MoreI moved to Miami a few months ago and work downtown. Last Saturday I went on the Historic and Architecture Tour of Downtown Miami and simply loved it! It is a well-balanced tour where in the first part you learn about the history of Miami, get to see old pictures of the city, explore how the city evolved. Then in the second part you walk around and see maybe ten historical buildings and you learn about the role they played back in the day, and you get to see the indoor of some of the buildings that you otherwise wouldn't have access to. This tour is great even for non-architects, I highly recommend it!
