The Fountain City Art Center is a hub for all creative and artistic activities in Fountain City, Knoxville. Artists from all over Knoxville and beyond exhibit their works here and thus get a platform from where to get a jump start into the competitive field of art. Fountain City Art Center is a non profit business that offers art classes, workshops, summer art camps, free art exhibits and much more. It is located in the former library building next to the swings in Fountain City Park. Although is has been an Art Gallery for 12 years, some people are not aware it is there. They do have a really informative website that you can easily find to see the full extent of what they offer. There is no entrance fee to view the ever changing exhibits. However, the art classes and workshops are offered for a reasonable charge. It is open every day except Sunday. Saturday it is open until 1:00 I believe. In addition to unique exhibits, they also have a separate space for Parkside Open Door Gallery which offers art and crafts for sale. This for profit business is fun to look around and browse for gifts and/or art for yourself. Next, Le Grand Music Studio is also located inside the Art Center. They offer many music classes including voice, piano, guitar and much more. Since the Fountain Art Center is non profit, they have several fundraisers throughout the year. Memberships are also available for individuals and families. Stop in and enjoy the free exhibits, check out art and/or music classes, and shop for art and gifts in Parkside.
