My wife and I would go to Scrapbook Island, she would buy her craft materials and I would look at all the antiques and collectibles. Every time we went there I would find something like an old typewriter or lantern so on and so on. We were surprised to walk in the store it is now strictly craft supplies, no more antiques and collectibles. My wife can buy craft materials anywhere, but we used to buy them at this store, because I had so much fun looking and buying the old antiques and collectibles.

Scrapbooking stores are becoming fewer and fewer these days. This is one of the best in the area. They have all the supplies you need, from paper to stickers to embellishments.

Not many scrapbook stores around any longer, but with a store like Scrapbook Island, you only need one! Selection of product and tools is great, classes are affordable and unique. Staff is great. My only observation is that I wish they had more kits (scrapbook pages, card-making, album-making) for sale. Nice to buy a kit now and then, to have everything you need (and little else) in one collection.

This scrapbook store is in the heart of San Jose. In October, 2014 they are moving to a new location at 14090 Blossom Hill and Harwood. Store carries great selection of card stock, patterned paper from all major brands, stamps, dies, embellishments. My favorite thing about this store is the awesome Getaways (fee to attend). I've attended several getaway weekends in 2014. At the last one, I completed 60 12x12 layouts. In addition, there is always some make n takes. I recently learned how to take a photo and put it on a tile added legs and made a beautiful trivet. They just posted their 2015 schedule. So you can plan ahead Scrapbook Island also hosts a Flea Market. This year it is the weekend of October 17 - 19. Contact store for details. Some times are early bird entry. This store has a loyalty program. Shop and earn toward a future discount. My favorite person at the Island who is so personable besides Laurie, the owner, is Lucy. At my last Getaway I sent her a small list of the themes I was working on. She pulled items from my themes. I wanted almost everything. Saved me tons of time. The Getaways are off site at a hotel in the area. Each one they offer a trip to the store. We ride with the owner and run a tab for the weekend paying at the end. There is also a mini store at the Getaway. I also try to bring enough card stock but find I always have a need for a different color. The tool area always has a Cricut available at the getaway and attendees or the staff are avail to teach a new tool. I drive over an hour to go to this store. I can special order paper I need in quantity. Fantastic store I've been going to since 2005 CKU Masters.
