tripadvisorLouie is an excellent host! Louie welcomed me upon my arrival at the Berrodin Bed & Breakfast and then helped me to prepare my bicycle for the next day's ride and got me settled into the house. He provided a tour of the house going over the common living spaces, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom that I would be using. There are multiple dining options a short two blocks away. Guidebooks for the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail are available in the common living area and were helpful planning the next day's ride. Breakfast was substantial, much more than a “continental” breakfast and provided the necessary nourishment to enjoy the day's activities. Overall I highly recommend staying at the Berrodin if you are staying in the Akron area.
MoreBerrodin’s Bed and BreakfastIf you find yourself passing through Akron and need a place to stay, check out Berrodin’s. We recently completed our 7-day OTET bicycle trip and had 3 couples looking for a place to stay for the night. Louie knows all things Akron, is very detail-oriented and had a great/safe spot to store our bikes. And don’t forget to pick up your OTET t-shirt!!!!
MoreAs long-time touring tandem cyclists, we’ve seen a wide variety of overnight accommodations. The Berrodin B&B in the Highland Square community of Akron is something special. Louie, the host, welcomes you and eagerly shows you around his home which he purchased when he was twenty. The house includes a notable collection of metal artwork by famous Akron artist, Don Drumm. Louie is happy to share reminiscences about the neighborhood, where in 1934 his grandfather established The Bucket Shop, a much loved bar (now closed). The community also includes the home of Dr. Bob, cofounder of Alcoholics Anonymous. Louie loves technology, and the house has plenty of new gadgetry. The beds are excellent, there’s a wide selection of healthy foods for breakfast, and the price is reasonable, but Louie himself is the highlight of a stay there.
MoreWe enjoyed meeting Louie, he was a wealth of information on many sites and places to tour in Ohio.
MoreThis is a one-of-a-kind experience! The house is decorated so beautifully and the host Lou makes you feel so at home. It's in a lovely little neighborhood with a brick street. The house is so cozy and accommodating. Everything is clean and so well thought out. It was truly an honor to stay here!
