This is for the booth at the SF Farmers Market as we've been there many times and have our olive oil frequent using points. This olive oil is amazing and our favorite is the Mediterranean Medley, but I also love the Jalapeño mixed in salads and veggie to give them a bite. Also love the Cilantro and Rosemary one for sautéing veggies or in salads. SO great we get a chance to try them first!

We had the chance to go to Sciabica Olive Oil company and do an olive oil tasting. All of us have been to shops with ours, vinegars and jams available for tasting. But this was on a whole new level!! Our presenter, Craig, is a trained and credentialed taster on the California Olive Oil Board. Fantastic job if teaching us how to taste: pour a bit of oil on your tongue, aerate it, breathe thru your nose, and taste the oils! Along with teaching us to smell, we learned so much about different oils. Much like a well formatted wine tasting, we all became far more knowledgeable about olive oil. With video of production and lecture on history and world olive oil production, and information on how oils are flavored, this presentation was fantastic!! I recommend it if you are in the Modesto area and have about an hour. They have a very reasonable gift shop with all their oils and vinegars.

The team at Sciabica's was so AWESOME! We stopped in thinking it was going to be a small place to purchase some California olive oil, but it was so much more. We were led through a full tasting flight of awesome olive oils! Their flavored olive oils are something completely new to me. I have never tasted olive oils with so much delicious flavor. If you are a fan of mild heat, please make sure to try the Jalapeno olive oil. It has become my favorite for at-home cooking.
