This park is very large and quite near the suburban development around this big and growing city. Lots of places to hike and make a picnic and just enjoy the outdoors. Beware hot weather.

Had a ton of fun on the obstacle course, but when I got out of the water I had multiple rashes. This isn't the first time skin rashes and other infections have popped up at this lake, the water is dirty and covered in goose feathers and feces.

We visited Santa Rosa for a 3 day get away from our house. We were looking for something to do and found this nice little lake. Our son saw the swim pond and there was no stopping him! The pond was clean and there were life guards posted everywhere. They have a nice water floatation coarse that all the kids were playing on. Now that we know that this place is there we will be returning. The whole place is clean and it really is a family friendly.

The Environmental Discovery Center at Spring Lake is amazing! Full of interactive activities for kids of all ages. They also have a tidepool touch tank with live animals from the ocean! And admission is free!

Combined with the other parks next door, you have a very large open space perfect for recreation and very close to the urbanized area. Come and take a long hike, or wait for the spring and plan a picnic.
