Founded in 1979, the North Valley Art League is an art centre which supports and showcases work by local artists in northern California. Based in Redding, Calif., it is membership based and organizes art/photography shows, along with various meetings, workshops and fine arts programs, as well as a painting course for children. The center offers various facilities for artists, such as The Carter House Gallery, an open studio and the Matson Mowder Howe Celebration Garden. Additionally, the North Valley Art League manages a gift shop, which displays a variety of local artwork, including jewelry, glass/wood/metalwork, sculptures and pottery.
