I recommend this short walk to this place. Too bad they don't have a trail to the actual falls for us mobility challenged folk. I made it up the steep hill to get to the falls a few years ago but with help. Trail to the falls is behind the pump house, if you can call it a trail. very peaceful.

Loved this area, but hike cut short due to standing water over some of the trails from the heavy rains in Early April. Beware! Lots and lots of Poisin Oak. Had to give the dogs and us a bath as soon as we got home. Can’t wait for the Redding heat to dry up the area. We definitely want to go back and get in a full hike!

The small trail we walked was beautiful, and the creek flowing rapidly. I could only imagine how much prettier it would be with the plants all in bloom, especially once the burned areas grow back in. The drive up and back is beautiful, too, with amazing valley views. Nice little parking lot at the trail heads.

The California fires have damaged this area two years in a row. Give it time before you travel here, unless it is strictly the creek water you are going for.

The gorge is nice, but this the river trail is a little sketchy. Kind of like under the bridges in Redding.
