Hillsboro Artists' Repertory Theatre ( HART ) and Hillsboro Actors Training was started in 1994 by Kim L. and John H. Sandstrom as a private company. It quickly established itself in the community of Hillsboro, Oregon. For the next three years, Kim ran the theatre and the acting schools, and built a solid audience and a great deal of support for her organization. In December 1996 Kim decided that the needs of the theatre were too much for one person to manage, and she sold the business to "Friends of HART, Inc Subsequently, the name changed to Hillsboro Artists' Regional Theatre ( HART ). Friends of HART, a non-profit community organization formed in 1997 to operate the theatre, is dedicated to enriching the greater Hillsboro community by providing quality live performing arts at a reasonable price. Overseen by a dedicated board of directors consisting of various community members and arts supporters, Friends of HART has grown HART into a respected live community performance theatre that produces a regular season of creative, clever, and entertaining plays in its newly created 99-seat theatre. Our office staff, directors and our acting class teachers receive a small stipend for their efforts, but other participants ( actors, stagehands, box office, etc. ), are unpaid volunteers. A. Participation in local events, such as the Shute Park Concerts, the Fourth of July Parade, etc.

tripadvisorFabulous community Theater in Downtown Hillsboro. We have seen every production since we moved here and have donated money to the theater as well. Always impressed by the productions and how much talent is in the local area. BRAVO HART Theater!
MoreSo, I went to see Nanna Naughty Knickers. The costumes, acting and sets were great. The play not so much. Infact the cast did a fantastic job based on the content of the script. So go you will have a great time, but check the offering and decide by that.
MoreWe visited the HART Theater for a production of A Holly Jolly Christmas. The production was written by two of the actors and executed with all the nostalgia of 70s holiday specials. What a treat! The cast was fun, and human. The theater is small, which makes for a more personal experience. At intermission, there were freshly baked cookies, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available for donations. Homey and comfortable atmosphere! We had so much fun, we came back again and brought a friend the next week! Great way to support the local arts.
MoreBecky's New Car was hilarious as they interacted with the audience. Very friendly, small theatre with comfortable seating. Excellent parking to the side of the theatre and several restaurants to eat and drink at before or after performances. $32 for two tickets. Well worth it.
MoreI took my 8 year old to see a kids play here last night and had a great time. I was not aware we had this establishment in our town. Loved the small town feel of the theatre and everyone was so nice. Will definitely attend more plays here
