Classical training. Serious fun. The Oregon Ballet School is a private, year around school with a full ballet curriculum designed around the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance in London, England. The school is dedicated to excellence in ballet training for aspiring professionals or enthusiastic hobbyists. In the Children's Division (ages 4-11), instruction is designed to develop basic motor skills as well as balletic technique and vocabulary. The school promotes the enjoyment of dance in a supportive environment. In the Pre-Professional Division, students 11 and older progress from the Intermediate Foundation through the Advanced levels. Pointe work is introduced in this division for students taking a minimum of three classes per week at OBS. Oregon Ballet School features well appointed facilities including two studios opening up to a large lobby, the perfect place for parents to wait for their child, along with a kitchen and snack area. Once a year, OBS students prepare and perform a program for their families and friends. Programs consist of demonstrations of work from the students syllabi together with dances choreographed by the director. The End Of Year show has become a popular and well attended event.
