tripadvisorDO NOT STAY HERE. CAUTION. OVERCHARGES.My husband and I booked 2 nights for a family wedding which was held nearby. Our first night went well enough but somehow our reservation was only for one night (we found out the next morning) so we had to move to book another night in a room across the hall for same price but smaller room. We made the move and they only accepted payment with Booking.com. We mentioned the noisy air conditioner immediately and went to breakfast. A staff engineer was sent to fix it. However, it was not fixed as we learned on our late-night return from the wedding. THE FAULTY AIR CONDITIONER KEPT US AWAKE ALL NIGHT. We taped the outrageous noise and played it back to the manager who offered to refund half of our $364/night. When our bank statement revealed that we got a charge from the hotel for $182.31 in ADDITION to a charge from Bookings.com for $364, YOU CAN IMAGINE OUR SURPRISE AND DISAPPOINTMENT.
MoreWe were visiting Granny's Attic, an antique mall a couple blocks away and needed a place to stay. We booked a handicapped suite with a roll-in shower. They let us check in an hour or so early. There was a king bed and a pull-out sofa bed. It also had a small kitchenette with a microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and sink, no stove nor oven. My wife was happy with the king sized bed, I slept on the sofa bed, the mattress was super thin, but I don't have much experience with one of these, so maybe it's typical, but it sure seemed thin. It had no bed clothes, so I had to make the bed from scratch. The sheets for both beds were polyester, good polyester, but polyester none the less. I expected better from a place like this.A.c. and internet were fine, standard WiFi was free, but they wanted more money for the premium speed or a membership in their frequent traveler membership. The free WiFi served us well, I watched You Tube all night without interruption. The most annoying thing were the electrical outlets. Both my wife and I sleep with CPAP machines, and, while there were plenty of outlets, power was inconsistent. We both woke up when our machines power was interrupted.I this the jacks were loose but I can't say for sure, very annoying.Breakfast was included and served until 9:00, I arrived at about closing , there were still a few item left. It appeared that it was pretty nice before closing.Handicapped parking was adequate.
MoreA handful of reviews made us a tad wary, but we needed to be in the area for a wedding, and had good experiences with Home2 hotels in the past. We had a very good 3 nights here. Brytney at the front desk was friendly from the get-go and always found ways to make our stay better. Our room was clean, spacious, and already at a cool temp when we arrived. We had work space, dining space, dressing space, chilling space. Home2 provides a wide array of amenities at an adequate level. Nothing fancy or inspired, but quite good for the price. Breakfast was the same everyday and not spectacular but it made sense to offer things that appeal to the widest audience given the budget they're working with. The mini-market downstairs was handy for snacks and water. They're hotel convenience priced at $4 for a bottle water but that was fine, we need a lot of water. Plus AMEX Surpass credits worked there. Only negatives are that the walls are thin, and the location is not walkable to anything. Google maps suggested a walking route to restaurants, but it was impossible due to stroads and highways. We had to backtrack and drive.Overall, it's what you expect from a Home2 Suites, clean and functional.
MoreGo elsewhere. Have stayed here 4-5x over the past 16 months, it's gone downhill a little bit each visit and this most recent visit will be our final visit to this hotel. The property is not being maintained well, they need fresh paint and to clean the carpets and put spot remover on the furniture The rolling office chair in our room was very dirty. AND BETTER HOUSEKEEPING. They allow pets, so some rooms smell like a rabbit hutch. All of that and then a bunch of free running kids in the gym while their parents did laundry... no thanks. I'll take my Hilton business elsewhere. When management refreshes the property they should splash that news all over
