One of the oldest working dairies in the Oregon, this spot is a fun tour for families. There is a lot to see including cows, old cars, a pond with ducks and a museum with old toys and machines, some of which date back to the 1800s. Pony rides and games for kids are offered from June through August. A 15-minute drive from Portland, it is an interesting look at one of the area's biggest industries of yesterday. There is no admission fee.

One of my favorite places to visit. If you like a retro, nostalgic feeling this is the place to go. A local dairy with handmade frontier town including an old fashioned theater.

My grandchildren and I visited Dairyville and Story Book Lane this Christmas. I had gone when I was a little girl and had fond memories. It did not disappoint. There's an Oprah House that was hosting a local dance group's Nutcracker Ballet. So cute. Also, it's free. You just bring canned food or a toy to get in. How great is that for a family. My daughter stood in line to get into Store Book Lane while the grands and I strolled around Dairyville. It's like an old west town. Some of the windows/doors have mock ups of things you'd see in that shop - like the post office or bank, etc. It's cute. Some of the shops are actual shops. We bought home made cookies and got some candy to take home. There was a bazaar going on when hand made items. We then went through Story Book Lane with little scenes and live animals. This is what I remembered from my childhood. Very sweet, and there were many, many live, flocked trees in there, so the smell was wonderful. We petted a goat, sheep, rabbit, dog and a donkey - there were also ducks and chickens and a pig. Even my 14 year old grandson got a kick out of it. You can see Santa, but there's a charge, and I would recommend making a reservation. There's a old sleigh that you can climb in for the photo opt. I enjoyed the dairy's museum of vehicles used to deliver milk. The dairy has been around since 1901 I believe. Since I remember getting milk delivered, I loved the walk down memory lane (even boring the grands with my recollections). There was a tribute to Rusty Nails the local clown that had a children's TV show. I'd forgotten about him and his association with Alpenrose Dairy! It was a fun couple of hours and a great memory for this Gramma! Sorry, I didn't take any photos of the little town.

Cold day, (bring you big coats) but is was fun too see the many decorations, & all the different Christmas trees. It's free to get in & they give you mini candy canes too. Santa is there during specific times only, so call ahead. We brought our own hot coffee & chocolate to keep warm.

I was there to see the World Series Little League girls series. The field is nice. The spectators need more shaded area. The concessions were great. The restrooms are a walk from the field. I understand a child was hit by a car while was in the cross walk during one of the games. Maybe there should be speed bumps by the restrooms to,slow cars down.
