tripadvisorWe stayed one night at Econo Lodge Mobile. In many decades of travelling, we have never encountered a dirty hotel like this one.The towels had visible dirty marks that made us so uncomfortable that we skipped showering and chose not to use any of their towels. The pillows were in a similar condition, and for the first time ever in a hotel, we slept without using pillows. We also did not feel comfortable using the dark-colored blankets so we used only their white sheet to cover ourselves.Outside, there were noticeable garbage and construction debris (dirt). The “free breakfast” was just a very minimal continental setup. We hope these issues are addressed to improve conditions for future guests.
MoreThe room smelled strongly of carpet fresh although there is no carpet. Cinder blocks would have been more comfortable than this bed. There was a sheet and the blanket was a glorified plastic table cloth. And to top it off...the towels were stained with old mold and God knows what else. It was absolutely the most disgusting room I have ever seen. There was not an option to give this rating a ZERO
MoreI should be reimbursed for this money was supposed to get a room in Denver Colorado and this is the room that was booked in Mobile Alabama I wasn't even there I should get a full refundI contacted TripAdvisor to try to get a refund to know avail tried to call this motel all I got was busy signal I should have been able to cancel this
MoreThe Econo Lodge located at 400 S Beltline Hwy, Mobile, AL is the worst hotel I have ever used & I stay hotels an average of 75 nights a year. The sanitary conditions & security situation at this establishment are substandard at best. The front door had been broken into with a crow bar & was ajar. The sheets, blankets & pillows were stained and full of cigarette burns. Cockroach & mite infestation. The ceiling & walls had open holes in them, wiring poking out of the receptacles etc. This hotel would not come close to passing a city health & security inspection. I decided to pack it up & sleep in my vehicle at a interstate rest stop.
MoreThis is possibly the nastiest hotel ever. I wasn't expecting much, but I wasn't expecting nasty, either. I've stayed in Econo Lodges before that were much better. This one is a few steps below a non-remodeled Motel 6. The best feature was the security guard! I've uploaded a photo of my dirty footprints after stepping on the bath matt at the shower. This is the perfect example of the filth! No vending machines worked as the staff told me someone broke into them and they aren't fixed yet. Bed was uncomfortable. Cops stopping people in driveway. Water blisters in roof from leaks. Buildings in horrible condition. TV barely worked with so much snow on the screen from a horrible signal. Just a few channels. Not even a coffeepot or iron. If it wasn't storming when I walked into my room i would've left.
