Great looking house and has a lot of history. Additionally, this house is where comedian Mark Normand lived as a child, as heard on Chrissy Chaos podcast episode 129.

The Dufour-Baldwin House is located at 1701 Esplanade Avenue. This beautiful home was built in 1859 for Dufour in the Greek Revival style of architecture. Dufour was an attorney & state senator. He was involved in the writing of the Louisiana State Constitution in 1852. The Baldwin family bought the house in 1870. One of Baldwin’s grandsons invented the pump that could pump water from land that was below sea level. Both families were wealthy, prominent citizens. The house sits at the intersection of Esplanade Ave. & Derbigny Street. This is currently a privately owned home.
