Established in 1913, American Cancer Society Inc. (ACS) is a cancer information organization that provides various related services. Based in Madison, Wis., it is a voluntary health organization that has more than 900 local offices nationwide and a presence in more than 5,100 communities. The organization was founded as the American Society for the Control of Cancer (ASCC). American Cancer Society Inc.
