I love Eugene for its bookstores. Primarily because each one has its own unique character: Both locations of Smith Family Bookstore have tons of paperbacks; Tsunami Books has that quirky, alternative vibe; and Black Sun Books has that crammed, small bookstore feel. J. Michael's Books is a first-class collection of new 1st editions and high quality used books. It has a nice rare book collection, 2 bookcases of used, modern 1st editions, a very nicely stocked art section.......and so much more. There really is something for everyone. True, the other bookstores can make that claim as well; but J. Michael's selects used books in stellar condition. It really is a first-class act in the Eugene bookstore scene. If you're visiting downtown Eugene, you really must check this place out !
