I was trying to be proactive and book online excursions. was charged triple what you could pay at the ticket booth instead. Availability to purchase from ticket booth is an option. I was told by the ticket booth if you purchase from a third party they up charge you. Alcatraz and 1hr boat excursion at the ticket booth is $78 for both. I purchased from the tour store for $389.95.....

I went online to find tickets so that we could take our kids to see Alcatraz. It was the one thing they asked to do. I paid over $400 for the 4 tickets which I know was way more than if I would of had more time and been able to buy them directly from the Alcatraz tour place itself but hey, what do you do when your booking close to arrival. The day before our tour I received an email that they had to resend me the tickets to my email because they had a Lacey and a Stacy (me) and they got them mixed up somehow. So I got my new email and thought I was all set to go. Day of tour we went to get our tickets scanned to board the boat and the guy said our tickets had already been scanned. hmmm.. We had to go to the ticket counter and were told that our tickets were already scanned and the name on those tickets were something completely different. The agent said that there are lots of scammers out there and that people will buy tickets and then sell them to multiple people. She says that she sees this happen to families all the times. They were completely sold out of tickets so we were not able to go on the tour. I was able to reach someone who I guess was at Tour More Partners and they did refund my money so that was good and very much appreciated. I am not 100% sure if this was an actual scam deal or just an honest mistake. Either way it was a very disappointing day to our family and especially to the kids.
