tripadvisorSome friends invited us while we were visiting Florence and it was a poetry slam and I was shocked and delightfully surprised of the depth and intimacy of the peoples poetry.. my main question is where are the men? Im sure there were more than 90% women which is fine but where did the men go? Are they in hiding??!
MoreThe events center is a 455 seat theater with no bad seats in the house. The catering company that they use for events offer good food at reasonable prices. The music event was amazing and I hope we can go next year as well.
MoreWe attended the Winter Music Festival at the Florence Event Center (FEC). We saw John Craigie, who opened for Al Stewart, and he was fun and engaging. I have been waiting to see Al Stewart at a geographically accessible venue. I was ecstatic he was coming to Florence! The theatre is beautiful. It is relatively small (approximately 455 people) and well-appointed. The staff is so well organized! For this evening performance we purchased plastic glasses there for $5 ( a wine glass for me, beer glass for my husband). You then purchase your wine or beer and you can take them inside during performances (because the glasses are spill proof). Brandenbourg winery was a sponsor and selling their wine which was both tasty and reasonably priced. Staff was also cheerful and friendly, making us feel most welcome. The concert was incredible! Al Stewart was wonderful and the audience was enthusiastic and engaged — I can't help but attribute some of that to the intimate atmosphere, great acoustics and comfortable chairs. I plan to follow the FEC schedule and come back soon for another event!
MoreMary Lou a voulenteer there and my neighbor told us of the Glen Miller music programm it was wonderful great music many people out on the dance floor refreshments and food plates available it was a memorable evening can't wait for next year, Yes I danced They put on many different events all first rate.woof and meweoo reciently was sick and did not make it this year was there last year..
