tripadvisorTraveling through Spokane and stayed at this Motel. It was a very pleasant experience! The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!! The owner was very nice. I was by myself and felt very safe. It was very clean. Had a beautiful kitchen! The entire room was very nice!!
MoreI booked the room a week in advance and said I would show up at 6-8. We arrived at 8:10 and no one was there. After ringing the doorbell and extremely unhelpful, rude man answered the door said he didn't know what I was talking about and sent me across the street to the other hotel. Across the street, the woman yelled at me through the door that we had said we would be there at 6 (we didn't) and that I had given her the wrong number (definitely didn't). After driving all the way from Canada she had given our room away. This was clearly a blessing in disguise because this hotel was absolutely terrifying. It was sketchy, run down and lots of unpleasant characters lurking around. We stayed at the Ramada instead. Horrible place and the most unfriendly staff I have ever met anywhere.
MoreIt just so happened to be our last night of vacation, and to our dismay we were left to stay at the unpleasant -- scratch that -- mortifying Shangri - La motel. The instant we made our way through the door we were introduced to a medley of nauseating smells. It was rather hard to breath I should say. Although the lighting was fairly dimmed, bizarre stains were evidently seeping through the filthy couch cushions and outdated carpet. We did not dare leaving our luggage on either surfaces. Entering the bathroom was yet another thrill. A blood - like substance was splattered against the door, the sink was corroding, and the shower - head was fully lodged with lime scale. Other than a thin bar of soap, no other amenities were provided. Not to mention, the towels were black, and the bedding was red, for more or else obvious reasons. We were aware of what was awaiting for us in the bedrooms, and therefore, overlooked what was nestled in between the queen sized mattresses. Although utterly disgusted we had no other choice for the night. We tore of the bed covers, sprawled out our own sleeping bags, and dressed ourselves tightly from head to toe. So much for a good night's sleep right? Did I mention the door lock was broken? Yep, things really couldn't get any better than this. After a brief night of sleep, we scurried out of the doors, but failed to see any housekeeping on site. It really get's you wondering. For everyone's emotional well- being, please be aware of the trauma that may follow after a night in at the Shangri -La motel.
MoreI like the woodsy atmosphere, and easy access to downtown Spokane. A bit worn, but management is cooperative and cordial. Good prices. No restaurant, but coffee available in AM. Back rooms have very nice deck, with trees and good security due to height off ground.
