tripadvisorBeen a patron of the amazing KCLS since 2000. Today, I visited Bellevue Public Library & noticed a gentleman viewing some questionable material on one of the library computers... while several children were walking around (there was a Pokemon event taking place). Out of concern for the children who may come across the material, I calmly reported this to an employee at the front desk, to which I was told firmly, Pornography is not illegal. This is a public library. Discovered today that KCLS will take no action if patrons are viewing porn on computers even when children are around. What are we doing here, KCLS?
MoreIts an experience by itself visiting Bellevue Public library. Fantastic design, multiple languages including great classical Tamil and a separate 3rd level for kids. Fun and knowledge in one place.
MoreAside from offering the traditional full-services expected of a great library, this location brings the community together with special events. Today, we attended a free concert to preview the upcoming Wintergrass bluegrass music festival. The music was Buck Owens and the audience couldn't have been more diverse. A really fun way to spend a gray afternoon.
MoreThe building is not only beautiful, but exceptionally organized. We had never been to this particular library, so we decided to take a look around. There's free parking, which is always a plus in Bellevue.
MoreYou can only park here for 4 hours, which blew my mind for a library to set a time limit. I'm never in cities so I just bet there was no way they could enforce that, but I was there for 6 hours studying the entire time in the library and I got a $76 ticket. Also, I moved around to 3 spots on the second floor and the wifi tested at 0.3 mb / sec everywhere which is basically unusable. You can't do anything with that speed. If you want internet, you have to use their computers or use your phone's data So all in all. The worst library in recent memory, (7 libraries I can think of) for getting any work done. I hate this place. I want my $76 back.
