There is a community mural on the side of one of the buildings of this historic Public Housing project. You will find in the heart of Chinatown. Both the mural and the housing are essential parts of this living community.

Ping Yuen is four-building public housing complex in the north end of Chinatown. The mural is on Stockton Street side. It's huge, painted by Los Angeles artist Darryl Mar in 1995. The faces depicted in the mural are actual people, drawn from photographs of congregation members at Mar's church. My photo shows only a part of the mural.
