tripadvisorWe had a good stay at Staybridge Suites Denton. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Great value for amenities offered. Beds were very comfortable. Room had a fully furnished kitchen.
MoreI selected Staybridge Suites in Denton because it’s located directly next to the home of the family I was visiting. Had I known what the experience would entail, I would have simply driven one more traffic light and stayed at the Marriott. For context, I’ve been a corporate event planner for 25 years. I’m deeply familiar with hotel operations and the standards of service expected across all tiers of hospitality—from budget-friendly to luxury. I also understand the guest accommodations and staff discretion typically extended to someone in my position. When issues arise during a stay, I never lead with my professional background. It’s not my style, and more importantly, it can interfere with an authentic evaluation of the guest experience—something I genuinely enjoy. Unfortunately, this property has made that impossible. What follows is not shared lightly, but it should serve as a warning to future guests.Issues experienced during my stay:• Poor lighting throughout the suite• Garbage disposal clogged for the entire duration• Interior bathroom door non-functional• TV remote inoperable• Excessive noise from neighboring rooms late into the night• Flickering ceiling light• A small cockroach found on the kitchen table• Unidentified bodily fluid sprayed on the bathroom wall• A dirty sock tucked between clean towels• Trash left in hallways for multiple days• Trash in the parking lot that remained through our departureWhen I requested a room change, the front desk agent initially agreed but said it couldn’t be done until after 3 PM due to full occupancy. I returned after 3 PM, only to be told by a different staff member that a room change was not possible, and they were unsure why the previous agent had said otherwise. They claimed they couldn’t leave my current room uncleaned if they reassigned me, and that housekeeping had been sent home for the holiday weekend and would not be called back.I know this to be false. So here we are: a dirty hotel, unhelpful staff, and an unfortunate—but entirely warranted—review from a quiet, observant, and tolerant guest.
MoreWe booked a room here at the very last minute on a trip back from Galveston to Kansas. Our two bedroom room was around $400. We go to the room and find one TV is not working and another one is missing a remote. Someone came to look at the TV that was working and left...not knowing what was wrong. We asked about the missing remote and they never addressed the issue. The room was not clean. The soap dispensers in the shower were all covered in old soap. The dishwasher was not properly anchored so everytime you opened it up it would slide out of the pocket and tilt. It was a mess...for $400. We go down to get breakfast the next morning to find all the lights off and people waiting for food...at 7:30! I don't know how it stays in business. This place should be condemmed.
MoreWorst hotel I’ve ever been at! Rug was wet, rude staff, air conditioner didn’t work. They gave us a commercial fan for the room which was ridiculous. Moved to another room and it smelled awful. Told them we were leaving because they were “sold out of rooms”. Worst experience. They deserve less than a star
MoreMy wife and I stayed un this hotel 12-8-2024. BEDBUGS BEWARE! The first night, in the middle of the night, I felt a bug crawling on me. Thinking it was nothing I flicked it off. After the 2nd night I saw a similar bug in the bathroom and ised google lens oi identify it. We management about this and we're told my card wouldn't be charged. A few days later it was CHARGED! I disputed the charge, then it was rebilled. Neither my wife or i had seen a bed bug before! After the obvious cleaning, sanitizing and worry I checked and I had been rebilled again. Then I get a 132 credit, then I get rebilled 264 and change. I was told we were charged for 1 night. I guess there's a 264 dollar bedbug fee???? No one has been any where near helpful in this and I will shout this from rooftops!!!! I don't wish this nightmare on anyone, especially when you get charged for it!!!
