Located near Oaks Park, Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge and downtown Sellwood, Sellwood Park was built on the old City View Race Track and acquired by the city in 1909. History looms here along the misty river bank, but this family park also has all the facilities of the modern age: nine picnic areas, a kitchen, basketball and tennis courts, football and baseball fields, a playground, horseshoe pit, pool and clean restrooms. This is a memorable way to spend the day. No fees to use the park.

tripadvisorGood playground, with a variety of things for kids of many ages to play on (we saw kids from early walker to probably ten all having fun): swings, slides, monkey bars, etc. The usual, I suppose. In a lovely setting as well, with towering trees, flowering trees... Clean bathroom, and with toilet paper. Free parking on the street right outside the park.
Morewe love coming here where doggies play and swim and have a ball ! also has a grassy area that is off leash
MoreWe went here to enjoy what I would call the last sunny autumn day. Went on several connected trails, then went for a run. Beautiful trails and it's not over-crowded. Beautiful wetlands. Nice transition to Springwater trail. Well maintained.
MoreBaseball diamonds, a pool with a slide, lots of trees and playgrounds. Mellow walkways, all located nearby a great neighborhood of older well kept houses. There is a good neighborhood with a funky groove within walking distance and the Oak Parks amusement center is just down the hill. People chic here and the walk a few blocks downhill to the river.
MoreSellwood Park is just east of Sellwood Waterfront Park. It is up on a hill overlooking the Willamette River, Oaks Amusement park, and a small lake. So this park offers views as well as a few other more physical activities. You can walk yourself or your dog here. Make use of their baseball field, tennis court, volley Ball court, the playground. If you are more laid back and lazy you can always just thumb your nose at those active showboat types. Go to the shade of the trees and make use the picnic tables. There you can find peace with nature and yourself. Transforming into the outdoor version of the couch potato.
