They sent a confirmation saying 7:30 pm.I arrived at 6:45. They acted very aloof and uninterested. I requested to be seated at several open seats (party of 2). They walked away and left us standing in the middle of the dining room for 10+ minutes. After (FINALLY) seating us, the band came out AT 7PM! WTH. Look at the attached image! It clearly says 7:30!!!This is beyond egregious. This is NOT HOW YOU TREAT GUESTS.HOW do you send confirmation saying 7:30 pm (when the band starts at 7:00 pm).We were mistreated so badly by the hostess. The reservation was made 3 weeks ahead, and they treated us like dirt when we arrived (THANKFULLY 45 MIN EARLY).It was super obvious that there were MORE IMPORTANT people to either the band, the owners or both. We've never felt more disrespected or more pushed down or shoved to the side in our lives.Something has gone VERY WRONG - OFF THE RAILS - with what used to be a great local venue for live jazz. The band was excellent. Thank goodness we arrived 45 min early and PUSHED to be appropriately seated. The food is EXTREMELY overpriced and mediocre at best.Service was very good. We gave our waitstaff a very nice tip.Ultimately, and sadly, this was probably our LAST time at Blue LLama.Nothing leaves a bad taste more than being misled AND mistreated.Blue LLama seems to have gone very, very off the rails. Success maybe gone to their heads? It won't last long when you mess up this badly! The bubble will soon pop...and they will deeply regret mistreating people who used to support and talk positively about them. Word travels fast.
MoreThis establishment is definitely a musical gem! The talent that I’ve viewed there has been nothing short of phenomenal. I love the atmosphere and ambiance of the club. The staff is fantastic, and the food is always great. Do yourself a favor and visit this amazing jazz club!!
MoreMy wife and I really enjoyed the music and the food tasted great. We planned to share dinner so we ordered the 3 course meal option with an additional dish, and paid the reasonable upcharge for what was billed as a 24 oz ribeye. The taste was great but the steak was clearly not the advertised size. Bottom line, food tastes great but it and the cocktails are overpriced for what is served. I ordered two of the same cocktail and was charged $20 for one and $14 for the second. We would go back for the music, but consider different choices for dining.
MoreWe went to the late seating last night and it was horrible. We were seated at 8:45. At 9 pm, service started for a course menu. I use the word “service” lightly. We were given a finger of Chablis and a lukewarm ouster Rockefeller. One each. At 9:10. Then when we had well finished the wine and oyster (singular), we didn’t see anything other food coming out. At 9:30 our server asked us if we had been given soup or “salad”. Confused why she was asking us what we’d had, we said no. At 9:45 we were served three mini pieces of radicchio. At 10:15 we were given 2 tablespoons of soup. At 10:30 the server tells us that the end of the first course, caviar Bellinis will be out “soon”. At 10:45 we asked for the bill for my husband’s old fashioned. The server is shocked. We just politely said that we weren’t waiting another 2 hours to finish the remaining 3 1/2 courses. We were trying to be discreet even though others around us were talking about how long it was taking between dishes. The server then got defensive “you’re here until midnight! We were pacing it out!” No, you weren’t. That’s the problem. Two hours for one oyster, three pieces of lettuce, and two spoonfuls of soup. You still had two caviar dishes, a pasta, the main tasting and dessert to get through within an hour. Horrible portions. Horrible pacing. We were starving and decided to leave. We’ve been to tasting events before and have left very full and never waited more than 10 minutes between dishes. This was absolutely ridiculous considering the price of admission being over $500 for two people with taxes, fees and gratuity. Four star admission for a 1 star experience. Very disappointing.
MoreSexy swanky jazz club. Went late night and jazz played for hours. Sat cozy and in amazement. The drinks also were superb.
