tripadvisorGreat experience with Friday harbor seaplane. Every employees was so nice and professional. I can recommend them 100%. It was a thrilling ride. If you are deciding between the ferry or the sea plane it’s no contest!
MoreLoved our Friday Harbor Seaplane trip! First time on a seaplane. We actually flew both Kenmore and FHS for a little trip from Seattle. FHS was incredibly organized and the experience was immersive and informative. Very safe, smooth flight. Would do it again in a heartbeat!
MoreI've been to Seattle before and seen all there was to see. I quite fancied doing something unique so booked a seaplane 3-hour adventure to the San Juan islands. The seaplanes are used by regulars who visit the islands so sometimes you'll likely be tagging along on one of those routes. Our Uber driver found the office and airport easily. You're dropped on their doorstep and greeted warmly. There's a comfortable waiting area and souvenirs / clothing on sale with clean washrooms. We had Shane as our pilot with 30 years experience. We had expected it to be rock-n-roll but honestly this was the smoothest plane ride we've ever had in our lives. We are used to tiny planes in the Caribbean but it can be hair-raising when turbulence and strong north-easterly winds catch you. But in these planes, we didn't know when we were taking off or landing. Just truly super super smooth - you could literally have landed the plane holding a stack of glassware without it toppling!...Or maybe this was simply the amazing skills of Shane! Brilliant tour of the islands! We saw lovely little bays, Whidbey island, Orcas and Lopez islands, Deer island; Shane pointed out so many places along the way and back like Allan Island, Burrows Island, Decatur, Anacortes and more. We got lessons in geology, geography, history, nature and felt more educated by the time we alighted after our journey. We saw sea lions and other wildlife along the way. We saw lighthouses, quaint towns, fisherfolk, abandoned properties, tankers and tugs along the way. Plus vistas galore of forests, coastlines, locks and amazing views of Seattle that are far better than any land tour! They offer a shuttle service to and from SeaTac airport for $15 per person. We decided to take the shuttle to SeaTac on our return journey to then catch the light rail train into downtown Seattle. Our driver Hayden was a safe driver and jack-of-all-trades as he was there helping in many areas during our wait time. He also helped with ramp duties when we arrived back to Renton airport. The staff are very friendly and are safety and customer-focused. Thank you for my very first seaplane ride. Thanks to you I'll be singing praises of this mode of transport....and can't wait to go again! Cheers!
MoreDevin was a great pilot. He was very knowledgeable of the area. A great tour guide! Incredibly smooth, takeoff and landing! Highly recommend a trip beautiful views.
MoreGreat people to work with. Flight was beautiful and the ride was smooth. The staff worked with us on the flight back as we decided to go back by ferry since flights were delayed due to weather. They are refunding the flight back.
