tripadvisorThis was an absolute terrible experience. Manager Greg Cluster has terrible customer service and he should not be in management. He does not know how to communicate or care about future customers. Greg cluster needs to find a new source of income.
MoreWhat a well-oiled machine... Gustavo Dumadel and the L.A. Phil orchestra. My first time ever to see/hear them. I am NOT an opera fan... and the performance we attended on 6/2/22 featured an opera singer. Did not enjoy that piece at all. Would prefer to just listen to the orchestra and no vocals whatsoever. If you can, skip buying tickets online and go to the box office. You will save on fees, and you may want to take your chances and see what is available during the Rush sales (two hours before scheduled performance). We scored some well-priced seats in the balcony this way. They offer Senior discounts as well (65 and over).
MoreWe attended a concert, not on our subscription packages SU1 and SU3, but this looked very interesting to us. I purchased tickets and we were on our way to Walt Disney Hall on a Sunday after church services. Lately traffic has been good to us, taking about an hour and five minutes from Corona Del Mar. Today’s concert was without an intermission or without a break to change musicians. A continuous one hour and fifteen minutes, with music playing while stage personnel moved seating around in a darkened hall. Actors and singers, chorus and soloists, moved off and on. Above in the Terraces on either side, French Horns and Trombones played. The sets were moved by actors on the stage. At one point a shoe that had been taken off, come into the audience from the stage. This concert was called “The Weimar Republic : Germany 1918 - 1933 Weimar Nightfall”. Four pieces from four composers, in chronological order. One that I will remember for ever. Esa - Pekka Salonen is a Genius.
MoreIt was wonderful to attend a performance titled Music from the Americas. Conducted by the star conductor Gustavo Dudamel, it was a most enjoyable evening. In the stunning auditorium, our seats were deliberately at the furthest from the orchestra, Balcony Level 5, centre thereof. We had breathtaking views over the whole space. With warm tones of the predominant Douglas-fir and the different wood of spectacular orchestra area, we were delighted with our choice. Sinfonia India by Carlos Chavez, a piano concerto by Benzecry and two Copland pieces were marvellous. Acoustics were first rate and even the quietest segments of the music were tone sharp and clear.
MoreIn February of this year, we had the opportunity to visit this splendid building and hear a special Latin Chamber Music performance. We were also treated to a wine tasting prior to the musical presentation, and were able to enjoy the outdoor garden deck - in spite of the fact that it was pretty chilly. There isn't a bad seat in this house, and the visual elegance of the structure matched the musical performance.
